Julie Evans, a familiar figure to many on a matchday selling AKUTR's on Loftus Road, collected the trophy at the ground. Fair play and a big thank you to the club for hosting the presentation... and for the second year in succession, too!

We are delighted that AKUTR's has, for the second year in succession, been voted the top Football League fanzine in the New Football Pools Fanzine Awards 2009.

In fact, the award is all the more prestigious this time around, as our particular category (printed fanzines) was four previous categories merged into one this year.

We are very proud to have won top spot once again - and the plaudits for that are shared by a very strong writing team, a dedicated sales force, a brilliant cover designer - and, of course, a loyal and discerning readership!

You can read what the judges had to say about AKUTR's and discover who won what in the other categories at:

Congratulations to all the winners - and to all those fanzines deservedly shortlisted in the various categories, including from QPR. It is a real honour to be do our beloved club proud in this way.

Back on track... at last!

When we launched this site last summer, we did so with the caveat that it would take a while before it was up and running in full. Frankly, over the past 12 months, updates have been occasional at best. For the most part, it’s sat here hopelessly out of date. That’s entirely been down to me and my inability to access the full editing functions of the site on my ageing Apple Mac, with its effectively outdated operating system.

The good news is that, thanks to my mate Simon, who has kindly built me an all-singing, all-dancing PC, I can at long last update the site from the comfort of my own home, rather than having to visit the local library (I kid you not!) in order to access the edit functions. So consider this the relaunch! The future starts here. Probably.
