AKUTR's voted Best Football League Fanzine for the second year running!

Julie Evans, a familiar figure to many on a matchday selling AKUTR's on Loftus Road, collected the trophy at the ground. Fair play and a big thank you to the club for hosting the presentation... and for the second year in succession, too!

We are delighted that AKUTR's has, for the second year in succession, been voted the top Football League fanzine in the New Football Pools Fanzine Awards 2009.
In fact, the award is all the more prestigious this time around, as our particular category (printed fanzines) was four previous categories merged into one this year.
We are very proud to have won top spot once again - and the plaudits for that are shared by a very strong writing team, a dedicated sales force, a brilliant cover designer - and, of course, a loyal and discerning readership!

Royal Mail duly torn off a strip ("There weren't even any stamps on the box you delivered back to me, for crying out loud!"), we can now turn our attention back to the official launch of our 2009/10 charity fundraising initiative. The pages will go live as from 3.00pm this afternoon.

A full box of Issue 232, which contained envelopes addressed to subscribers, has just been returned to me by Royal Mail. The box was used to carry all the individual packages to the post box, where I waited until the collection time to meet the driver. This was to save the post box getting filled and the postman the effort in taking them all back out again. I handed him two boxes, seeking assurances that they wouldn't be mistaken for parcels. One box was obviously emptied and distributed, as emails confirm that some packages have been delivered. Earlier today, Royal Mail delivered a 'parcel' to me - that 'parcel' being the other box containing subscriber copies. I am very annoyed about this, having worked hard to get them out into the post - and am now off to the local sorting office to get them into the system for a second time, and to make a complaint. My apologies for the delays that have occurred through this. - Dave Thomas - Editor
